Craig Revel Horwood issues Strictly Come Dancing fans 'only' warning as exit looms - Manchester Evening News

Craig Revel Horwood has issued an 'fans only' warning to Strictly Come Dancing fans as the first exit of the new series looms.

The hit BBC One dance contest returned last month with its 23rd series, as a crop of new celebrities were welcomed into the famous ballroom for the first time.

It was then last Saturday night (September 27) that the first live show of Strictly's 2025 run took place, with all of the 15 new couples taking to the dancefloor with their first routines, officially marking the start of the competition.

Things kicked off with former England rugby player Chris Robshaw and his professional partner Nadiya Bychkova, as they opened the show with a samba to EMF's Unbelievable.

And later in the evening, former Lioness Karen Carney closed the show alongside her professional partner Carlos Gu, as they topped the leaderboard with Jive to One Way Or Another by Blondie alongside her professional dance partner, Carlos Gu.

Elsewhere, social media star George Clarke and professional partner Alexis Warr, who was also making her Strictly debut, scored 24for their American smooth to Myles Smith's Stargazing.

Meanwhile, EastEnders star Balvinder Sopal and her professional partner Julian Caillon, who was the second new dancer to perform on Saturday, scored 17 for their samba to (Shake, Shake, Shake) Shake Your Booty by KC And The Sunshine Band.

The new pairings could slightly relax as during week one, there is no dreaded dance-off and noone has to go home. However, week two of the competition will take place this Saturday night (October 4) and the first couple will be eliminated as the judges votes are combined and the public gets the chance to vote for their favourites.

Ahead of the next live show, Craig has been seen in a video shared to Strictly's social media channels confirmed the changes to this year's voting system.

For the first time in Strictly history, viewers at home will not be able to vote for their favourite couples by text or phone call, with the only option being to vote online.

In the video, Craig is heard explaining: "The Strictly Come Dancing vote this year is going online today. In order for you to vote, you have to have BBC account.

"So get ready to vote for this year's Strictly, go to bbc.co.uk/strictly where you can sign in or register for your BBC account. Once you're registered, you're good to go for the whole series, darlings!"

The caption alongside the post read: "The #Strictly vote is going ONLINE ONLY! Head to our website to register or sign in to your BBC account so you can vote for your favourite couple!"
