A Married At First Sight UK bride has hit back at viewer complaints about her 'annoying and ridiculous' habits in an explosive video - and has revealed the key moments bosses cut from show.

Julia-Ruth Smith, 29, hit our screens last month as one of the brand new cast members taking part in the 10th series of the programme.

The dancer tied the knot with Divarni Groce-Balogun, also 29, and they have been trying to work through their differences since saying 'I do' just moments after meeting each other.

Tuesday's instalment saw the couples take part in their first commitment ceremony and some watching at home pointed out the fact she was using her fingers to clap when her co-stars returned to their seats after chatting with experts Paul C Brunson, Mel Schilling and Charlene Douglas.

Taking to her Instagram story, Julia-Ruth explained her reason behind it, saying: 'I'm actually screaming that I have to jump on here to say this - just because you guys are so vexed that I didn't clap with both hands, I clap with one.

'I want to jump on here to kind of say that this actually originated from Thai, Black and Latin communities and the LGBTQ+ community, which I'm heavily a part of being a dancer.

Julia-Ruth Smith, 29, hit our screens last month as one of the brand new cast members taking part in the 10th series of the programme - and many have pointed out her finger clapping on the show

'It means to give someone their props, to acknowledge them, that you see them, that you're sending them love and acknowledge them.'

It comes after some took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their frustrations over it.

'I cannot stand Julia-Ruth's f***ing finger clapping.'

'What's with Julia Ruth and that finger thumb clapping?'

'Julia-Ruth's finger clapping stop it.'

Despite that, some did appear to understand what it meant themselves, with one pointing out: 'It comes from the queer community.

'It originated in ballroom culture: it's not her thing, she's involved a lot with the queer community, hence why she does it.'

She also took to her Instagram Story again to give her opinion on the edit of this year's show.

Julia-Ruth told her followers: 'There's so much in the edit, whether it be good or bad for everyone that is missing.

'Like there's so many moments, at like the dinner parties, where everyone's bonding, having a good time and laughing and kiki-ing.

'There's just lots that's not been seen so I think just really be kind to people who are having a tough time on screen right now.'

The video comes after Daily Mail exclusively revealed that the show turn into pure chaos after a bride fractures her rib and her husband 'stays out with the boys bragging about his sex life'.

Earlier this week they took part in their first dinner party, followed by their first commitment ceremony during Tuesday's instalment.

In a sneak peek of Thursday's episode viewers can expect plenty of drama ahead of the second upcoming dinner party.

Julia-Ruth tells her husband Divarni: 'We went out for drinks last night and we had Steven with us, there is things I don't agree with that were said.'

'It is quite concerning,' Divarni replies.

Speaking to the camera, Julia-Ruth says: 'Steven should have been at home with Nelly but instead he was at the bar bragging about his sex life before the experiment.

'That is just insane.'

She continues: 'Nelly has no idea and I'm not 100% sure if I should bring it up at the dinner party. I'm struggling with that.

'I think tonight will be very telling once there is a bit of heat on them, how strong that bond really is now.'

Speaking with her husband, Rebecca tells Bailey: 'I don't know what's going on in that boy's mind.

'Nelly fell, fractured her rib, she was hurt and he decided to stay out with the boys all night.'

Bailey tells her: 'I just don't really know where his head is at.'

Speaking to the camera, Rebecca says: 'Both Bailey and I are really close with Nelly and Steven, but it feels really muggy.

'I feel he's treating her the wrong way.

'My husband wouldn't disrespect me in that way and if he did, that would be it for me.'
