Chris Robshaw has said that 'it's not all rock and roll' after her revealed that he suffered a 'wardrobe malfunction' before his Strictly Come Dancing performance.
Former England rugby captain Chris, 39, is taking part in the BBC dancing competition with Ukrainian professional dancer Nadiya Bychkova, 36.
The duo had the difficult challenge of being the first of the 15 contestants to perform in front of the judges in the first live show on Saturday night (September 27).
Dancing the Samba to Unbelievable by EMF, judges Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood., Motsi Mabuse and Anton du Bek gave them a score of 14 points for the routine.
As things stand, Chris and Nadiya are currently second last in the leaderboard, with only ITV Lorraine's Hollywood reporter Ross King and Jowita Przystal below them.
Seeking to avoid the first dance-off of the series, which will take place during this Sunday's (October 5) results show, Chris and Nadiya will be dancing the Viennese Waltz to Die With a Smile by Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars.
With just days to go until the performance, the pair appeared on Strictly spin-off series It Takes Two on Thursday (October 2) to discuss the programme with presenter and former Strictly pro Janette Manrara.
Already sharing his nerves prior to the series, Chris was happy to have the support of his wife Camilla Kerslake, who is a classical singer, and his mum Patricia Robshaw in the crowd for his first dance.
"The feeling when we finished was absolutely incredible. There was a nice moment where we did a bit of a shimmy and my wife and mum were in front of me, they were laughing and smiling.
"I kind of lost track a little bit, but I was so nervous before. Dancing is so out of my comfort zone, to do it in the arena, to open the series and the show, no pressure right?
"I have an amazing teacher who trained me and got me ready, when we had a standing ovation after, it was amazing," he said.
Having her say, Nadiya added: "Chris is used to performing in arenas, thousands of people, playing rugby. When we're there with them [the stars]we can feel the nerves, we can see it in the eyes. I knew he could handle it because he's used to it.
"I love that he's open about it and going 'of course I was nervous'. He did such an amazing job. I was so proud of him. It's so out of his comfort zone, to open the show not knowing how it was going to go on that stage in those boots."
However, just moments before the episode went to air, Chris was left needing help from the costume department when he began having issues with his shirt.
"This is backstage moments before we went on. It's not all rock and roll, and glamour. We had a bit of a wardrobe malfunction where the shirt started to ride up.
"The tricks of the trade is they sew it under the crotch and stop it rising," he noted.
After telling him to 'channel a duck' for the first dance, Nadiya said Chris is going to be a 'swan' to help him 'glide with a long neck' for the Viennese Waltz.
Assessing the upcoming dance, Chris said: "It's been interesting, a lot of the judges highlighted that my physique might make ballroom a little better. I think it is a nice way of saying 'you have no rhythm and you're very stiff'."
