Hundreds of motorcyclists are expected at a spine-tingling Halloween party in Plymouth. But organisers of the free to attend Brews and Boos Halloween Evening at Macpherson Motorcycles, in Plympton 's Eagle Road, are insisting the invite goes out to families from the community too.
"We want to reach as many local Plympton residents as possible so we can show all the local families that we are far more than a motorcycle dealer," said event organiser Mike Dillon, of Macpherson Motorcycles. "This event is for everyone. Local families are encouraged to come pay us a visit whether they are into bikes or not."
Last month more than 500 bikers turned up for an immense "bike night" to mark the official opening of the new Macpherson Motorcycles premises, and its Pit Stop Cafe. The business was formed in 2019 as a workshop and cafe in Cattedown, but grew to having a showroom at the Barbican, in 2024, before relocating lock, stock and barrel to the large double buildings in Langage, vacated when a previous dealer went into administration.
Organisers are expecting the spooky October 31 event to also be popular - already 144 people have responded on a social media event post. The fun starts at 6pm, or as the invite puts it, "from dusk till late".
The party will include the screening of a vintage horror movie, Halloween-themed food and drink, including coffee and hot chocolate, sweets and face painting, with artist Suzy Sparkles, for children and "chilled vibes and good company" for everyone.
The business said: "This Halloween, Macpherson Motorcycles invites you to a spooktacular evening of community, candy, and classic thrills. Whether you're out trick-or-treating with the little ones or just looking for a festive hangout, swing by for Brews and Boos: our family-friendly Halloween celebration.
"Costumes are encouraged, good vibes guaranteed. Let's light up the night with laughter, treats, and a touch of spooky nostalgia. Everyone's welcome, from tiny ghosts to grown-up ghouls. Tag your crew, bring the family, and let's make this Halloween one to remember."
Macpherson Motorcycles moved to Langage in early September, leaving its former premises in Commercial Road and in the Barbican's 19th Century, Grade II listed AE Monsen Ship Stores building.
The new showroom features stylish Italian motorcycle brand MV Agusta, Britain's Norton, two more Italian brands: Moto Guzzi and Aprilia, plus Harley-Davidson's LiveWire electric line. There are also secondhand and trade-in bikes on sale and new brands expected to come in soon.
The Macpherson Motorcycles buildings have been kitted out into attractive spaces which are proving to be a huge draw for bikers and non-bikers alike. The cafe is spacious and furnished with tables, chairs and comfy sofas - with some strategically placed motorcycles too.
The showroom has all the up-market style associated with Macpherson Motorcycles' former showroom in the Barbican.
