Who in this congressional district wants to elect a Republican who will pretend to heed electors' needs? One who will kowtow to the greed and mistruths popular among today's Republicans? One who will take away our health care, vaccines, education, due process, and raise prices of just about everything and kill our democracy?

Who will elect that Republican? Those Democrats, progressives and nonthinkers who do not vote at all because some of Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez's votes are stuck in their idealistic craws. Or vote for an alternative who cannot win, who will take votes from the incumbent Democrat.

Earlier in Perez's career, I too was disappointed in her votes. She reasoned the bills wouldn't fix the root of the problem, and I agreed with her, but not her votes.

Anyone who pays attention to politics knows the first years of new legislators are a steep learning curve. Those who have followed Perez recently have seen her begin to understand she must represent the entire district, as well as what it means to honor her oath to protect our democracy.

We must keep her in the House. Give her more opportunity to develop. Vote for Marie.
