The Philadelphia Phillies' social media circle is in search of a female fan whom they have referred to as "Karen" following an incident during Friday's game against the Miami Marlins. In the fourth inning, the Phillies slugger Harrison Bader hit a solo home run that landed in the stands of the LoanDepot Park.
Two fans dressed up in Phillies jerseys tried searching for the ball under the seats before the male fan found the baseball and gave it to his companion, possibly his son. The woman was left fuming over this as she went up to the other fan and started a heated discussion before taking the ball away from the young kid.
The entire incident was caught on the live broadcast as fans rallied behind the young kid while referencing the female fan as "Karen," a slang word used to refer to middle-class women who are entitled and excessively demanding. A fan put out a "Wanted" poster and the tweet has received over 4.8 million impressions.
After the young kid was asked to let go of the ball, two innings later, a member of the Miami staff came to the young kid with baseball goodies, featuring several baseballs and some gear, to make up for what happened. The live broadcast captured this moment during the sixth inning of the game.
Moreover, after winning the game, Harrison Bader personally greeted the young fan and gifted him a signed bat.
The Phillies won the game 9-3, thanks to home runs from Bader, Brandon Marsh, Max Kepler and Bryson Stott. The club solidified its lead as the best team in the National League with a 82-59 record.
