BBPH: Dermarite recalls contaminated hand hygiene products

BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) - DermaRite Industries has recalled several hand hygiene products due to contamination with Burkholderia cepacia, a bacteria that can cause serious infections, especially in people with weakened immune systems.

The recall includes DermaKleen, KleenFoam, DermaSarra and PeriGiene products.

Bismarck-Burleigh Public Health is urging North Dakota residents to:

* Check their homes and workplaces for the affected products

* Stop using them immediately
