After no grand prize winner from Friday's drawing, the Mega Millions jackpot for Tuesday is up to $1 billion with a cash value of $448.8 million.
The current jackpot is the seventh largest ever, the Mega Millions lottery said in a press release. All the jackpots won in 2024 were ranked in the top 10 highest jackpots ever. The highest win this year was $1.13 billion, with an estimated take-home value of $536.6 million.
That ticket was purchased at a ShopRite Liquor in New Jersey.

The winning numbers from the Tuesday, Dec. 24, drawing were 11-14-38-45-46 and the Mega Ball was 3. The Megaplier was 3X.

When purchasing a Mega Millions ticket, you can select six numbers. The first five will be chosen from a range of 1 to 70 for the white balls, and the last number will be chosen from 1 to 25 for the coveted golden Mega Ball. For those who may find it daunting to pick their own numbers, the option to select Easy Pick or Quick Pick is available, which will randomly generate the numbers for your ticket.
The Powerball costs $2 per play.
