Shocking report reveals Celtics superstar played with torn meniscus

Could the Boston Celtics be without both of their superstar wings next season?

Jayson Tatum tragically ruptured his Achilles in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals versus the New York Knicks, and Tatum is expected to miss most or all of the 2025-26 season.

On Saturday, a new report indicated that Tatum's superstar running mate in Boston, Jaylen Brown, was also dealing with a serious injury during the postseason.

ESPN's Ramona Shelburne revealed on Saturday night that Brown has been diagnosed with a partially torn meniscus, meaning that the 28-year-old former NBA Finals MVP was battling with a severely injured knee during the Knicks series, and possibly earlier than that.

"Celtics forward Jaylen Brown wasn't just playing through pain during the playoffs, he finished the season with a partial meniscus tear, sources told ESPN," Shelburne posted to X.

"He'll be evaluated this week to determine whether surgery is necessary."

News of Brown's injury is sure to result in a wave of admiration, support, and respect from basketball fans everywhere, and for good reason.

Brown erupted for a legendary performance in Game 5 at TD Garden with his longtime teammate Tatum recovering from surgery in a New York City hospital.

Now, Brown awaits info on whether or not he, too, will need to go under the knife.

No one can deny that Brown put everything on the line for the Celtics this year, that's for sure.
