Families are discovering Miller Farms in Armada not only because there's a lot to do there but because parents and their children can enjoy the day for less than $25.
"I think that's what people really love, that it's affordable for families," said Jessi Obry, a neighbor who works at the farm and has known the family for years. "My family, my parents and my sisters, they like coming here too."
Miller Farms has been a go-to-destination for sleigh rides and Christmas trees.
However, in the past year Stacy and Jeff Miller have expanded operations to include a variety of new fall attractions.
A few of these include:
* A petting farm featuring Highland cows, a rare breed of miniature cattle that has people driving from two hours away to see them.
* The Outpost Bar, a unique tavern fashioned out of an old grain silo. The Millers also obtained a new liquor license that allows them to serve beer, wine, cider, and canned cocktails!
* A corn maze that's 8 acres long.
* A market and gift shop featuring a fresh produce and homemade goods such as apple pie, maple syrup, jams and jellies.
Of course it would not be a farm without wagon rides.
During the fall season visitors will find a selection of specialty donuts including the traditional cinnamon donut and Miller's caramel apple glazed donut.
Every pumpkin seen everywhere on the farm, whether you pick it or find it loaded on a wagon is a flat fee of $8.
There's also a free fun zone and instead of charging everyone in the family admission is $5 per child. Parents and children under the age of 2 are free.
"As a small family owned business, we really rely on the community and it's been incredible seeing new and familiar faces visit us this fall and help to get the word out," Stacy Miller said of her and her husband Jeff Miller noting the updates they made really made a difference.
"We've been absolutely blown away by the number of visitors who have come near and far to visit our farm," she said.
The winter season will also see new additions on the farm including a hot chocolate bar. Miller Farms is at 71800 Romeo Plank Road in Armada.
