The Lynchburg area has several outdoor activities to take part in this weekend. The Lynchburg Hillcats host a "Star Wars"-themed night, Bedford County exhibitors will show off their livestock at the county fair and the Rockfish River Rodeo returns to Nelson County for its fall show.
Star Wars Night at Lynchburg Hillcats game
Feel the "force" as the Lynchburg Hillcats take on the Fredericksburg Nationals on Friday during Star Wars Night at Bank of the James Stadium. All your favorite characters will be at the game, which starts at 6:30 p.m. at 3180 Fort Ave. Attendees are invited to dress in their favorite "Star Wars" costumes and the first 1,200 fans through the gates will receive a free Hillcats trucker cap. International Overdose Awareness Day
Join Horizon Behavioral Health for "One Big Family Driven By Hope" on Sunday to mark International Overdose Awareness Day in Lynchburg. The event, which will take place at 7 p.m. on the Downtown Lynchburg Bluffwalk at 12th and Commerce streets, will honor those who have lost loved ones to overdoses and raise awareness. Open mic tributes will be featured as well as a celebration of life with a candlelight vigil and memorial table. For more information, go here.

Bedford County Fair Livestock & Horse Show
The Bedford County Fair continues with the livestock and horse show this weekend. The event, which will run from 8 a.m. Saturday through 6 p.m. Sunday at Allens Mountain Livestock, 2673 Timber Ridge Road in Bedford, features Bedford youth and adult exhibitors showcasing animals from cattle to goats to horses. Ken's Rhythm Changers: European Gypsy Jazz
Don't miss a chance to experience some unique music this weekend as Ken's Rhythm Changers brings its European gypsy jazz performance to Second Stage l Amherst. The event, which will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday at 194 Second St. in Amherst, is presented by Amherst Glebe Arts Response, Inc and features Ken Matthews on clarinet, Lilianna Yates on upright bass and Dwight Spencer on guitar. Rockfish River Rodeo: 2025 fall edition
Get your cowboy hats and boots out, and head to Nelson County this weekend for the Rockfish River Rodeo. The event, which will be held from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Saturday at Blue Toad Hard Cidery, 462 Winery Lane in Roseland, features raging bulls, barrel racing, mutton busting, bucking broncos and more.
