Zara Tindall fights back tears in rare emotional interview with husband Mike Tindall - Irish Mirror

Zara Tindall was visibly touched as she looked back on her Olympic triumphs with her husband Mike on his YouTube series, 'Mike Drop'.

The programme, which started in early 2023, featured Zara as a guest. Since their wedding in 2011, the daughter of Princess Anne and the former England rugby star have become one of Britain's most recognised power couples.

The pair have three children - Mia, Lena and Lucas. Zara is renowned for her equestrian skills at the Olympic Games.

When Mike launched his video series in 2023, she joined him for an uncommonly open chat, discussing motherhood and her medal-winning moments.

The couple sat down for a heartfelt half-hour chat on the channel, delving into Zara's victories in equestrian sports. She highlighted her success with her Olympic horse, High Kingdom, who secured her a silver medal at London 2012, reports the Mirror.

Zara also reminisced about highlights from her early career, including winning two gold medals at her senior debut at the 2005 European Championships and earning an individual gold and team silver at the World Equestrian Games the following year.

She warmly remembered competing and winning for the late Trevor Hemmings, owner of High Kingdom, reflecting on their unique bond during the remarkable victory before his death in 2021.

"We managed to get him [High Kingdom] to the Olympics, which was incredible," she started. "Trev, Trevor Hemmings, has won so many amazing things in his racing career, Grand Nationals and things like that."

Zara, 44, then began to well up, but bravely continued: "But to see his face at the Olympics and to get that team medal was amazing.

"And to be able to give something back to him when he had supported me for so long was incredible. I'm going to get emotional now."

Her husband Mike, who celebrates his 47th birthday on Saturday, October 18, commended her dedication during their chat, observing that she often prioritises her owners and horses, sometimes to her own detriment.

When she's not fulfilling Royal duties or competing, Zara is known for dedicating every spare moment to her three children.

During the interview, Zara openly talked about balancing motherhood with her professional life, including struggles with "mum guilt" and regaining fitness after the births of Mia, Lena and Lucas.

She continued, speaking to her husband: "I found it hard to get back to it. Mentally, you feel guilty leaving your child to do something else."

Zara and Mike's romance started during England's Rugby World Cup victory in Australia in 2003. Their engagement, announced in December 2010, followed Mike's proposal with "a custom-designed diamond and platinum ring with a divided diamond band."
