The Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Beta has begun, giving players the chance to dive into Multiplayer action as well as try out a snippet of Zombies with Vandorn Farm Survival, all ahead of the game's official launch on November 14. With fast-paced Multiplayer across stellar maps featuring futuristic weapons, and round-based Zombies set in the heart of the Dark Aether, the Beta is already shaping up to be a solid start.
When it comes to Multiplayer, however, the biggest focus usually falls on the weapons. The Black Ops 7 Beta only includes a fraction of the game's full arsenal, and players are still experimenting to figure out which weapons stand out. Luckily, we've put together a tier list ranking the best weapons in the Black Ops 7 Beta for Multiplayer.
S-Tier
M8A1 (Marksman Rifle)
Currently, one of the best weapons available in the Black Ops 7 Beta is the M8A1, the only usable weapon in the Marksman Rifle class. The M8A1 makes its return from Black Ops 2, and in its current state, it is absolutely the meta weapon to be running. It's a powerhouse in mid-to-long range combat, firing in four-round bursts that can take down opponents in as little as two bursts.
When it comes to stopping power, the M8A1 stands above most weapons. Its range is excellent, and with very little vertical kick or recoil, it remains laser accurate even from a distance. The M8A1 shines the most when landing headshots, giving it a strong edge in achieving a fast time-to-kill. However, since it's a burst weapon, it does require solid accuracy to make the most of it, which may turn away players who prefer to spray and pray.
Dravec 45 (Submachine Gun)
Following behind the M8A1 is a weapon that many players may find themselves gravitating toward. The Dravec 45 is the second Submachine Gun available in the Beta, and while it isn't the fastest-killing option by any means, it's easily the most reliable. The Dravec 45 is the perfect middle ground for players looking for a balanced run-and-gun weapon that performs well both up close and at a distance. This is thanks to its impressive damage range, which extends surprisingly far for an SMG.
While the Dravec 45 cannot beam enemies from across the map, its added versatility at mid-range makes it an all-around great choice. On top of that, the weapon ties with the Ryden 45k for the best handling in its class, offers solid firepower, and remains fairly easy to control in terms of recoil.
A-Tier
MXR-17 (Assault Rifle)
At the top spot for the A-Tier is the MXR-17, a weapon reminiscent of the Man-O-War from Black Ops 3, not so much in design but in how it performs. The MXR-17 is by far the best Assault Rifle for long-range engagements in the Beta, thanks to its high damage per shot paired with excellent range.
At mid-range, the MXR-17 is just as effective, offering heavy-hitting power that can quickly eliminate opponents. The only thing keeping the MXR-17 from reaching S-Tier is its limited magazine size of 25 rounds and its lower handling compared to other Assault Rifles.
M15 MOD 0 (Assault Rifle)
Next up is the M15 MOD 0, the default Assault Rifle that players will be using in the Beta. The M15 MOD 0 is essentially the M4 of Black Ops 7, designed to be the most well-rounded Assault Rifle that anyone can pick up and use effectively. The M15 MOD 0 is fairly accurate, performs well up close and at mid-range, and is a reliable option for those just starting out.
While definitely not the strongest in the Assault Rifle category, its damage and time-to-kill are respectable and carry well into mid-to-long range if players can land their shots. Speaking of landing shots, the M15 MOD 0 Assault Rifle is arguably the easiest to control out of the three, making it the perfect choice for beginners.
Ryden 45k (Submachine Gun)
The Ryden 45k is not a bad gun by any means. In fact, for some players, it might even be a favorite pick in the SMG category. The Ryden 45k is a sleek and compact Submachine Gun that boasts one of the fastest fire rates in the game, giving it one of the quickest time-to-kills of any full-auto weapon at close range.
The Ryden 45k shines within the first 5 to 10 meters of a gunfight, shredding enemies with its rapid DPS. However, its high recoil can throw players off when trying to use it at mid-range, and its ammo consumption is fairly high, often leaving players reloading after taking down just one or two opponents.
VS Recon (Sniper Rifle)
The VS Recon is definitely an exceptional weapon, and in the right hands, it's easily the best weapon in the Black Ops 7 Beta so far. With the highest firepower of any weapon in the game and a reliable one-shot kill potential to the upper body, those looking to snipe can't go wrong with the VS Recon.
Out of the two Sniper Rifles available, the VS Recon is without a doubt the one worth using, featuring moderately manageable handling and a solid rechambering speed. However, it also demands the most skill of any gun in the Beta, relying heavily on quick reflexes and good accuracy.
B-Tier
Peacekeeper Mk1 (Assault Rifle)
The Peacekeeper Mk1 is one of the more iconic weapons in the Black Ops 7 Beta, returning from Black Ops 2, and in the right hands, it's definitely a solid choice. The Peacekeeper Mk1 handles quickly and features a high fire rate, functioning as more of a hybrid between an SMG and an Assault Rifle for close-quarters combat.
This makes the Peacekeeper Mk1 a great option for players who prefer to run and gun. However, compared to other weapons, its time-to-kill isn't the fastest, and it does have a noticeable amount of recoil when used at longer ranges.
Jäger 45 (Pistol)
When it comes to reliable weapons in the Secondary category outside of using Overkill, the Jäger 45 currently stands out as the top choice. This semi-automatic Pistol is available right from the start in the Black Ops 7 Beta and deals impressive damage, something Pistols in past games often lack.
With a fast fire rate for those with quick trigger fingers and a solid range, players running a Gunfighter setup or using Perk Greed won't go wrong with the Jäger 45. It may not be a weapon you rely on for every gunfight, but as a quick swap-to option, it handles really well.
M10 Breacher (Shotgun)
A go-to weapon for the Black Ops 7 Beta right now is the M10 Breacher, and it's easy to see why. The M10 Breacher is a pump-action Shotgun capable of dishing out a one-shot kill, and it also features a charge mechanism that tightens the spread to boost range.
While it's definitely a decent option for close-range, the M10 Breacher is not the best weapon by any means. By default, its range is very limited, and its reliance on accuracy due to the already tight pellet spread can throw players off. Furthermore, while the weapon can dish out a one-shot kill, it often requires one or two shots in most scenarios.
C-Tier
MK.78 (Light Machine Gun)
Currently sitting as the only weapon in the C-Tier category and the only Light Machine Gun in the Black Ops 7 Beta is the MK.78. At first glance, its massive magazine and long-range potential make it a decent weapon, allowing players to fire far longer with less worry about reloading.
That said, the MK.78's biggest strength is also its weakness. Its large magazine and high firepower lead to the weapon being quite slow and sluggish, making it hard to keep up with Black Ops 7's fast-paced gameplay. However, for players looking to hold down objectives or cover long sightlines, it can still be a viable option.
D-Tier
XR-3 ION (Sniper Rifle)
The XR-3 ION is a bit of an odd case in the Sniper category in Black Ops 7. The weapon is a three-round burst rifle, functioning similarly to the P-06 from Black Ops 3, though not all of that works in its favor.
Unlike the M8A1, the XR-3 ION cannot be fired immediately. Instead, it has a short delay between when it is triggered and when the shot fires, almost like a charged weapon. This pre-fire delay makes it one of the worst weapons in the game, though its one-shot potential is high enough to somewhat make up for it.
A.R.C. M1 (Launcher)
The A.R.C. M1 is the only Launcher available in the Black Ops 7 Beta, and, to put it bluntly, it's not exactly worth using against other players. Its main purpose is taking down aerial Scorestreaks, which it can handle fairly well. However, it requires players to land direct hits on their own, as the A.R.C. M1 completely lacks any form of lock-on capability.
Unranked (Not Available)
The following weapons are currently unobtainable until the Open Beta and thus cannot be ranked. Be sure to check back again once the Open Beta begins.
* Razor 9mm (Submachine Gun)
