Even though the anime and manga have both been concluded, Attack on Titan remains one of the most popular brands in either medium. This has inspired countless unauthorized and unofficial works, but has also resulted in an official tie-in to one of the biggest names in online gaming.
An official Attack on Titan mode is being added to the smash-hit title Roblox, which comes in response to many fans taking it upon themselves to make their own versions of this. The demo was recently shown off at a major gaming event, with the game mode being helmed by an award-winning team. Thus, while the source material may be over, the fun is just beginning for Attack on Titans fans.
Attack on Titan's Official Roblox Mode Debuts Demo at Tokyo Game Show 2025
Seen at the 2025 Tokyo Game Show, which was held Sept. 25-28, the official Roblox mode featuring Kodansha's Attack on Titan was shown by developer Twin Atlas. Twin Atlas was one of the many companies that were discussed for the role of developing this game mode in 2024, with other potential candidates being Bulk Games and Ambr x Moze. In the game mode, players create their own characters before joining the Regiment and defending Paradis Island from attacking Titans. Andrew Bereza, Evelyn Lai and Dillon Marsh represented Twin Atlas at the show, with private testing set to open soon. However, as of writing, a release date for when the mode will become available for regular Roblox players has yet to be confirmed.
The introduction of the Attack on Titan: Guardians RP game mode is largely a way for Kodansha to combat a form of "piracy" surrounding the franchise. Roblox boasts a wide level of customization, allowing players to create their own games within the game. This has come to include unofficial "adaptations" involving numerous brands, and the Attack on Titan franchise is just one of them. By implementing this new game mode, Twin Atlas and Kodansha can offer a true Attack on Titan experience through a popular game that's certain to keep the brand alive for years to come. This isn't the only anime tie-in to the game, with the also-concluded manga My Hero Academia having its own Roblox mode. There have been other crossovers and tie-ins between various popular video games and Attack on Titan, with the latter being just one of the many anime properties to appear in some way in the popular title Fortnite.
