ESSEX Police's Tendring fraud and scam prevention officer visited the Lawford Parish Community Hub to raise awareness of the issue.
Fraud is when a person lies, 'scams', or gains an advantage, including taking money or private information, over a person.
This could be done via email, text, phone or in person with some adults being particularly vulnerable to fraud and financial abuse.
On October 21, Tammy, the Tendring fraud and scam prevention officer visited the Lawford Parish Community Hub to meet with residents.
This follows previous events such as the Princes Theatre in Clacton earlier this month.
The Lawford event was well attended, with Tammy offering valuable insights into current scams and fraud trends.
Attendees received information packs designed to raise awareness and support safer communities.
Essex Police said they are grateful to everyone who came along and helped with the conservation, saying future events with be advertised on Facebook.
