Six people were injured -- one critically -- in a shooting late Saturday night near Palmer Park and Academy boulevards in Colorado Springs, apparently after an argument escalated, police said in an online report.
The initial call for service came in around 10:12 p.m. from the Olympic Gardens apartments in the 1400 block of Potter Drive, just south of Palmer Park Boulevard, near the Rustic Hills Shopping Center. The shooting appears to have occurred on the street in front of the apartments.
Four shooting victims were found at the scene and were transported to local hospitals. Two additional victims were taken to hospitals in personal vehicles, according to police.
Potter Drive was closed in both directions between Palmer Park Boulevard and East San Miguel Street during the investigation.
One resident in the area said Sunday morning that he heard rifle fire and saw large shell casings on the street.
Police said the investigation is ongoing. No arrests have been announced.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call police at 719-444-7000 or contact Pikes Peak Crime Stoppers at 719-634-STOP (7867).
