The Crepe Escape has been named Dessert Outlet of the Year at the 2025 Food Awards Wales, earning top honours at a ceremony held on Monday, October 6, at the Marriott Hotel in Cardiff.
The family-run business, based on Glebe Street, is known for its fresh crêpes, ice cream, and coffee, and has become a staple for sweet treats in Penarth.
This year's win marks a step up from 2024, when The Crepe Escape was highly commended in the same category.
Team members took to social media to celebrate, thanking supporters and sharing their excitement.
A spokesperson for The Crepe Escape said on Facebook: "WE WON!! Still pinching ourselves!
"Dessert Outlet of the Year at the Welsh Food Awards!
"Massive love to our legendary Crêpe Escape crew (you're the real MVPs).
"This one's for our incredible team -- you're the heart, hustle and happiness behind every crêpe.

The Food Awards Wales, organised by Oceanic Awards, are now in their ninth year.
They recognise outstanding contributions to the Welsh food industry, highlighting excellence across restaurants, takeaways, pubs, cafes, and more.

The Crepe Escape is open Monday to Saturday from 9.30am to 5.30pm, and Sundays from 10am to 4pm.
The Crepe Escape is multi-award winning, and offers crêpes, ice cream and coffee.
