SPOKANE, Wash. - Fire crews responded to a vegetation fire near the 5,400 block of South Marshall Road on Tuesday evening.

Teri Bunce, Public Affairs Director of Spokane County Fire District 3, reported that the fire is burning approximately 1.2 acres. No structures are currently threatened by the blaze.

Firefighters are close to establishing a complete hand line around the fire's perimeter, according to Bunce, and will begin transitioning to mop-up operations once the hand line has been completed.
