After her son-in-law, whose real name is Shawn Carter, was named in a civil suit that accuses him and Sean "Diddy" Combs of raping a 13 year old girl, fans noticed Knowles Instagram account liked a post detailing the filing.
On Monday, the 70-year-old matriarch said her account had been hacked. "I was Hacked!" she captioned the Instagram post. "As you all know I do not play about my family. So if you see something uncharacteristic of me. Just know that it is not me!"
Carter, 55, denies the allegations brought forth by the anonymous "Jane Doe" in the lawsuit, which was originally filed in October without the rapper's name.
In the documents, the alleged victim's lawyer Tony Buzbee claims Carter and Combs both raped the girl at a VMAs afterparty in 2000.
Carter's lawyer, Alex Spiro, says he has reason to believe Buzbee is coercing clients into bringing forth false claims. Spiro says a woman reached out to his firm to share her negative experience with Buzbee's law offices, claiming the firm encouraged her to file a lawsuit against Sean "Diddy" Combs, even though her claims were not related to Combs, and then encouraged her to file a civil suit anonymously.
She says, "she felt directed and coached by Mr. Buzbee's firm to say that someone held her down and put drugs in her mouth when that was not her experience," explaining that "she felt forced to lie." She says Buzbee dropped her as a client when she refused.
On Sunday, Jay-Z responded to the allegations with his own statement writing, "These allegations are so heinous in nature that I implore you to file a criminal complaint, not a civil one!!" Carter said in response to Buzbee. "Whomever would commit such a crime against a minor should be locked away, would you not agree? These alleged victims would deserve real justice if that were the case."
