Fifty years ago, rock critic Jon Landau wrote "I saw rock and roll's future and its name is Bruce Springsteen."

A week ago, to paraphrase Landau -- who is now Springsteen's manager -- I saw the Red Sox's pitching future and its name is Payton Tolle.

Tolle made his Major League debut last Friday inside Fenway Park when the Sox played Pittsburgh.
