The Liberal party is floundering

Throughout much of the last term of federal parliament, the Coalition under its then leader Peter Dutton made a case that the Albanese government was unable to adequately manage the nation's affairs, using words like "disaster" to characterise some of the government's policies.

While there is certainly a case to be made that the Albanese government has done an extremely poor job in power for many Australians, amidst the ongoing rental crisis and some of the worst-performing growth in living standards in the OECD, the Coalition certainly didn't act with any real urgency.

Instead, the policy platform that the Coalition took to the federal election could broadly be summed up as tinkering around the edges, with the exception of the energy policy.
