When done right, it creates one of the most timeless sounds in music. SVMV nails this balance on his new EP, Don't Be Hallow -- a concise 5-track project with three standout features.

The EP opens with "Salty Waters," a soulful introduction that immediately sets the tone. It flows into "Hold" (ft. Nigel), where the collaboration adds another layer of depth. At the center of the project is "Morant," a track that caught my ear with its energy and delivery. "Temper" follows with heavy '90s hip-hop influences, giving it that golden-era feel. Closing the EP, "God Bless Da Hustle" stands out as a reflective anthem for perseverance and ambition.

When SVMV told me, "This is some real rap shit," he wasn't lying. He might not have known I'm a fan of exactly this kind of music, but the storytelling, flow, and production make Don't Be Hallow a project worth running back.
