Locals were issued warnings about smoke last night following a major blaze in the city.
Images reveal flames tearing through a property on Benview Street in Glasgow's Ruchill district, with residents urged to shut their windows and doors.
Three fire engines raced to the location at approximately 8.09pm on Friday after emergency services were alerted.
The incident occurred close to Murano Street Student Village, housing for Glasgow University students, where international pupils are staying ahead of the upcoming academic term.
Pupils and households throughout the Ruchill community received smoke alerts during the emergency response operation.
However, no injuries were recorded after the inferno, which is believed to have struck a derelict property.
The cause of the fire remains unknown.
Images show the blaze consuming the building, capturing the thick black smoke billowing across the neighbouring vicinity in Glasgow.
Locals in the Murano Street, Bilsland Drive, Lenny Street and Benview Street districts are thought to have been especially impacted by the smoke, reports the Mirror.
Speaking last night as the operation drew to a close, a Scottish Fire and Rescue Service representative said: "We received the initial call at 8:09 to a report of a building on fire in Ruchill Park area of Glasgow.
"We mobilised two appliances and a height appliance to the scene. Crews are still there and there are no reported casualties."
Police are currently aiding in determining the cause of the blaze. A representative for Police Scotland stated: "Police are assisting Scottish Fire and Rescue Service colleagues at the scene of a large fire at a derelict building on Benview Street, Ruchill, Glasgow.
"Due to the heavy smoke from the fire, local residents are advised to avoid Ruchill Park, and to keep windows and doors closed, especially in the areas of Murano Street, Bilsland Drive, Benview Street, Lenny Street. Enquiries into the cause of the fire are continuing."
Just last week, firefighters had urged families in Liverpool to keep their doors and windows shut due to a significant fire at a former country house.
Crews rushed to Woolton Hall, an 18th-century mansion in Liverpool, after it ignited around 8pm on Tuesday.
They stayed at the three-storey stone-built building for several hours, battling the fire as it escalated in size and intensity.
