Hot weather map shows exact date 28C Indian summer to blast Stoke-on-Trent - Stoke-on-Trent Live

The warmer conditions are likely to hit once again in September

An Indian summer is set to hit 19 UK cities next month with Stoke-on-Trent to bask in 28C sunshine. Weather maps from WXCharts have changed to a dramatic red as they suggest warmer conditions on September 8.

The weather charts come days after the wet conditions hit several areas as we approached the end of August. According to the maps, which are prepared using the MetDesk data, 19 cities in the country will experience temperatures above 25C as a heat blast sweeps several parts of the UK. The Midlands will enjoy sizzling temperature with Stoke on Trent e likely to swelter at 28C/

However, the Met Office has predicted a "wet and windy" start to autumn, with "no sign" of a return to prolonged heat or dryness.

It stated: "There is no signal for a return to high pressure, another heatwave, or a prolonged dry spell in the near future."

The Met Office's long-range forecast between September 3 and 12 reads: "Changeable and unsettled weather conditions are expected across the UK during this period with low pressure systems tending to dominate the overall pattern.

"This will mean showers or longer spells of rain will affect the much of the UK at times. Some heavy rain or showers are expected in places, most often in the west.

"Thunderstorms and hail are also possible, as are some spells of strong winds if any deep areas of low pressure form in the vicinity of the UK.

"Some short-lived spells of drier and more settled weather are also possible at times, especially later in the period when they may last a little longer. Temperatures will likely be close to average or slightly below overall, but may rise above at times in any drier, sunnier spells."

Some early morning sunshine will soon be replaced by widely cloudy skies. A band of rain sweeping eastwards may be heavy at times through the afternoon, accompanied by widely strong and gusty winds, especially over higher ground. Maximum temperature 20C.

Rain will clear eastwards, with a few residual showers through this evening, before most places turn dry overnight. Clear spells for many, but staying rather breezy. Minimum temperature 11C.

A bright day with blustery showers. Heavy, sometimes thundery downpours are expected throughout the day, interspersed with drier, sunnier spells. Windy, especially over higher ground. Maximum temperature 20C.

Scattered showers continue, giving a distinctly autumnal feel to the new working week. Longer spells of rain are expected at times, but there will be some breaks to sunshine too.
