Burglars use getaway 'wheelbarrow' after breaking into home through roof - Gloucestershire Live

Reports have been made to Gloucestershire police about offenders have smashed a front window of a van to steal tools from the vehicle.

Other crimes logged with police over recent days include two men wearing balaclavas attempting to steal a van, and offenders climbing onto a roof to get access to a property and thought to have carried off the stolen items used a wheelbarrow which was later found dumped in a nearby field.

Details of these and some other incidents which have happened in the county have been posted by police officers to the Your Community Alerts Gloucestershire website.

Nympsfield Road, Gloucester: A bike has been stolen from a property on Nympsfield Road, Gloucester. The incident happened on September 17, between 6pm and 10pm whereby the suspect(s) have unbolted a side gate and entered a lean-to on the property before removing the bike. The bike is a Qoroz road bike in unpainted titanium. If you have any information on this incident, please quote Incident number 483 of September 18, 2025

Jersey Road, Gloucester: A property on Jersey Road, Gloucester has had the garage broken into between the evening of the September 17 and the morning of September 18. A child's push bike has been taken. The bike is a Specialized FSR1 'bright' downhill bike in navy blue metallic with a purple seat. Barton, Gloucester: A property in Barton, Gloucester has had the shed broken into, the padlock had been broken off. The incident happened between 4pm on September 18 and 7.30am on September 19. Taken from the shed was a mobility scooter and charger. The mobility scooter is red with a black bag on the back and a basket at the front with a crack to the front bumper. Winstone near Birdlip: A stable block was entered in Winstone near Birdlip. Horse equipment was stolen. This occurred between 5pm and 11pm on September 18. Anyone with any information please quote Incident number 140 of September 18, 2025.

Hill Close, Stroud: A VW Golf car was entered in Hill Close Stroud. A small amount of cash was stolen. This occurred between midnight and 5am on September 17. St Johns Street, Lechlade: A Mercedes Sprinter van was entered in St Johns Street Lechlade. Tools were stolen. This occurred between 8pm on September 16 and 9am on September 17. Anyone with any information please quote Incident number 115 of September 17 2025 Please ensure that your vehicle is locked and that there no valuables left inside.

St Johns Street, Lechlade: Overnight on September 16 and 17, a van was targeted by thieves which was parked on the corner of St Johns Street, Lechlade. The suspects have proceeded to smash a front window and a search was made inside. During this, a number of tools were taken from within the vehicle. If you saw or heard anything at that location overnight and have not contacted the Police as yet, or have been offered any tools recently, please get in touch. Arkle Close, Cheltenham: Unknown offender(s) have gained access to a property by drilling the locks on the rear patio doors. A messy search has taken place with cupboards and drawers being searched through. Nothing has been reported as stolen at this time. This happened in Arkle Close, Cheltenham, between September 8, 2025 and September 14, 2025. Incident 130 of September 14, 2025.

Cleeve Hill, Cheltenham: Unknown offender(s) have gained access to a property by climbing on to the roof terrace and forcing a door open. The offender(s) have stolen approximately £800 worth of power tools. A wheelbarrow that was possibly used during the burglar has been found in fields behind the property. This happened in Cleeve Hill, Cheltenham between 6.30pm on September 12, 2025 and 12pm on September 13, 2025. Incident 256 of September 13, 2025. Beckford Road, Alderton. Tewkesbury: Gloucestershire police are appealing for information following reports of two males wearing balaclavas seen trying to steal a van from a driveway. The males were disturbed by a resident who ran out and chased them off. The males then drove off in a grey Vauxhall Insignia towards Willow Bank Way, it is thought the vehicle was on cloned number plates. Hanover Street, Cheltenham: Unknown offender(s) have stolen a black Suzuki Bandit motorcycle from outside a property. The chain has been cut and left on the floor; the steering lock has been snapped. This happened in Hanover Street, Cheltenham between 8pm on September 15, 2025 and 255am on September 16, 2025. Incident 030 of September 16, 2025.

Farmfield Road, Cheltenham: Unknown offender(s) have broken the wooden door of a garage to gain access. The offenders would have had to climb over a side fence to enter the garden. A train set with sentimental value has been stolen along with a grinder. This happened in Farmfield Road, Cheltenham, between 5.30pm and 7pm on September 15, 2025. Incident 432 of September 15, 2025.

Mosley Road, Stroud: A Citroen C5 car was entered whilst it was parked in Mosley Road in Stroud. An amount of cash and a Voodoo BMX bike were stolen. This is occurred between September 3 and 12.
