The KIA automotive plant in Zsolna, Slovakia, is a key manufacturing hub for the European market, particularly for compact SUVs.In the past year, these vehicles accounted for 63% of the plant's total production. The facility's operations extend beyond vehicle assembly, encompassing the production of internal combustion engines, which are also supplied to Hyundai's Czech Republic site.
The zsolna plant operates on a demanding schedule, running three shifts five days a week. Maintenance is conducted on weekends following production on Saturday mornings. The factory boasts a high degree of automation, particularly in the bodywork section, where over 600 robots, including models manufactured by Hyundai, perform critical tasks. This level of automation minimizes the need for manual labor in this specific area of production.
