The City of La Crosse is closing a portion of Ward Avenue today to replace a water main.
Work begins on the section between the railroad tracks and 32nd Avenue.
All driving and parking lanes are closed while the work is ongoing.
Temporary no parking signs were lined on both sides of the street as well as barricades and orange barrels sat along the edge of the work area as of Sunday evening.
No date was given by the city on when they'd be finished with the water main replacement.
The issue arose in February when a break caused water to back up into a number of homes in that area.
