Luis Diaz, Marcus Rashford 'fantastic players' with Barcelona looking for 'more quality' in summer, Hansi Flick says

Hansi Flick has spoken of his admiration for Luis Diaz and Marcus Rashford calling them "fantastic players" with Barcelona looking to add "more quality" in the summer transfer window.

Barcelona won a trio of trophies under the German in his first year in charge in Catalonia with Lamine Yamal and Raphinha starring on the flanks of a potent attack.

Flick, though, is keen for reinforcements in that area of his squad with sporting director Deco confirming the club's interest in both Diaz and Rashford earlier in the week.

Asked about signing a new winger in the summer, Flick said: "This is what we have talked about with the club. In the last matches maybe we did not have a lot of options in that position... so we have to bring more options to the team and more quality. This is the job from Deco, is clear, and I will support him."

Rashford has spent the second half of the season on loan at Aston Villa and is expected to leave Manchester United in the summer while there remains a degree of uncertainty around Diaz's future at Anfield with the Colombia international having just two years remaining on his contract.

On Diaz and Rashford specifically, Flick added: "I don't want to speak about players which are not in my team, but of course Luis Diaz and Marcus Rashford are fantastic players. I like them and we'll see what happens."

Barcelona are keen to tie Yamal to fresh terms with the anticipation on all sides being a deal will be agreed soon.

"I fully trust the club. Lamine loves to play here, at Barça, and he knows I trust him too," Flick said of the Spain international, while he expects Ronald Araujo -- who signed a new contract back in January -- to remain despite no longer appearing to be a guaranteed starter.

"Of course he stays. He signed his extension. I trust him 100 per cent," Flick added of the defender. "It has not been an easy season for him with (Pau) Cubarsi and Inigo (Martinez) so well established as starters but I'm sure he will improve next season."

One player who could leave the club this summer is Ansu Fati, who continues to be linked with an exit.

"It's not my decision," Flick said of the 22-year-old. "He has a contract here and will make his own decision. Whenever he wants to speak with me, we will do it. But it's him who decides."

Barcelona conclude their season with a trip to Athletic Club on Sunday night.
