Digger came from JMS' really kinda strange run on Spider-Man in the mid 2000's. Not to say it didn't have its great moments (which it certainly did) but he essentially took a lot of strange turns with Peter's character, and the payoff to some of these were pretty rubbish in comparison. One of these strange things were most of the new villains during this arc, which went from good (Morlun) to pretty bad (Shathra) with Digger being in my opinion right in the middle. Wasn't a massively deep character, but he didn't need to be- he was more or less a plot device to move the story along.
But anyway, Digger is a collection of 13 different people who were merged via Gamma radiation. All of them were dead at the time, having been gunned down in a mob hit in Vegas, and had their bodies dumped. After being reanimated, all of them want revenge on the person that ordered the mob hit. Enter Spider-Man.
The feat format is going to be kinda different, as Digger doesn't have a ton of feats. Instead, I'm going to list them under the comic issue that they appeared in, so I don't need to cite every scan that I use.
NONE of these issue scans break the scan rule, as I've cut out most of them so that they aren't full pages. For each issue, there will not be more than 3 full scans.
TAPM stands for The Amazing Spider-Man, btw. I'll be using that anagram so the title looks cleaner.
Digger is a interesting character in terms of stats- physically, he dominates most, if not all street level characters with his power and reflexes. However, his main weakness in that he can't fight for long periods of time against people who can consistently hit him with good strikes means that he struggles against anyone who is smart enough to notice this and can keep out of his range. The fact that Peter was able to not only figure out his weakness, but also face down with him using everything he has is a testament to how effective he can be in combat.
Digger's pretty lame in terms of character, but I found his story arc and stats to be interesting enough for a examination. He's worthy of far more respect than what he gets these days, at least from my opinion.
Again, if you read all of this, thank you for doing so. I'll will be continuing to make these, so stay tuned.
