Dec. 20 -- ST. ELMO -- Both Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg and St. Elmo/Brownstown earned victories in their first games of the 64th Annual St. Elmo/Brownstown Holiday Tournament.
The Hatchets defeated Mulberry Grove, 47-38. WSS led 13-7 at the end of the first quarter, 23-14 at halftime, and 37-23 at the end of the third. The Aces outscored the Hatchets 15-10 in the fourth.
Jackson Gurgel had 18 points for WSS (5-4). Kendall Morris had nine. Rylan Rincker and Brody Bible each had six. Tyler Vonderheide had four and Blayzz Verdeyen and Aiden Sayers each had two.
As for the Eagles (6-4), they defeated Patoka/Odin, 58-50. The Warriors led 13-3 at the end of the first quarter, SEB led 28-22 at halftime and 38-34 at the end of the third. The Eagles outscored Patoka-Odin 20-16 in the fourth.
Graidon Wilhour had 22 points for SEB. Lowell Wilhour had 15. Benji Lowe had nine. Gavin Sanders had seven. Jayden Hughett had three and Trenton Monnet had two.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Oblong/Palestine-Hutsonville 44 -- Farina (South Central) 29
The South Central Lady Cougars fell to Oblong/Palestine-Hutsonville, 44-29, in a non-conference game at Oblong High School.
OPH led 12-9 at the end of the first quarter, 21-13 at halftime, and 32-22 at the end of the third. The Lady Panthers outscored South Central 12-7 in the fourth.
Kennah Hiestand had eight points for the Lady Cougars (1-10). Perci Reid had six. Madison Green had four and Kaitlyn Swift had two.
