United States President Donald Trump has ordered the Pentagon to resume testing nuclear weapons "on an equal basis" with Russia and China. The announcement was made just before his meeting with Chinese leader Xi Jinping. "The US has more nuclear weapons than any other country," Trump wrote, naming Russia second and China "a distant third." "Because of other countries testing programs, I have instructed the Department of War to start testing our Nuclear Weapons...That process will begin immediately," Trump said.
