Luis Diaz was the biggest-named player to exit Liverpool this summer.
The attacker had entered the final two years of his deal at Anfield, and seeing as though Liverpool didn't want to extend his stay or increase his wages, he chose to seek an exit in the summer.
Several clubs were vying for his transfer in the summer, with Bayern Munich and Barcelona the two teams that were more interested in acquiring his services.
And, although the Colombia international had the best campaign of his career throughout the 2025-26 season, it was clear that he needed to leave.
Since leaving Liverpool, the former FC Porto man has instantly hit the ground running and has quickly become one of Vincent Kompany's most important players.
As mentioned, Diaz had the best season of his career last term, with the attacker becoming one of Arne Slot's most important players.
He was played on the left wing and as a striker during the 2024-25 campaign, and, to be honest, after Mohamed Salah, he was the Reds' best attacker.
Many fans questioned the decision to sell him for £65million in the summer, and although the likes of Hugo Ekitike have been brought in to replace him, it's unclear whether the Reds will end up regretting their decision.
And, while speaking to Movistar, Diaz gave his thoughts on his Liverpool exit and how he's feeling about it at the moment.
"I'm very happy to be at Bayern, it's a great club. There have been talks with Barça, it's true... which is normal in the transfer market," he said.
"I'm very happy with my decision. I've made an objective decision about my future."
Both Ekitike and Alexander Isak deserve to start for Liverpool this season.
However, since both play better in their natural position of striker, it's going to be interesting to see which of the two Slot chooses to use out of position.
Indeed, the Dutchman has already said that Ekitike can be used on the left, but there has been the odd occasion when Isak has been used as a winger.
Both players clearly have a keen eye for goal, and although it may seem like it'll be easy for them to fill the void left by Diaz, the relationship between themselves and their teammates will play a major part in the way things pan out.
At the moment, it's anyone's guess what could happen, but as long as Ekitike continues playing as he is and Isak finds his scoring boots over the next couple of weeks, everything should be fine.
