It has the makings of being a busy end to the summer window for Nottingham Forest as transfer deadline day approaches.
The Reds have overseen plenty of good business already as they have worked to strengthen Nuno Espirito Santo's squad. But they still have a few gaps left to fill in order to ensure the head coach has strength in depth across the pitch for the challenges ahead.
Nuno hit out at the slow pace of the club's transfer business prior to the start of the campaign. Pointing to the 'unbalanced' nature of his dressing room, he said: "We lost a very good opportunity to do things better."
For Nuno, the ideal scenario would have been to have the bulk of additions in early. He views pre-season as important for integrating new faces.
Forest did announce a flurry of signings following the Portuguese's outspoken comments. Omari Hutchinson, James McAtee and Douglas Luiz all arrived to take the tally of summer recruits up to eight. But the club still have some work left to do.
After last weekend's 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace, Nuno pointed to three areas in need of bolstering. He said he wanted two full-backs (one for the right and one for the left) and another goalkeeper.
Tick off those three pieces of business and that would represent a good deadline day Trentside. The Reds have been linked with a number of names to fill those voids, so it remains to be seen which deals they manage to get across the line.
Getafe's David Soria has been identified as Forest's preferred choice to provide back-up for No.1 Matz Sels between the posts. Fenerbahce's Dominik Livakovic is an alternative option.
In terms of full-backs, Leicester City's Victor Kristiansen, Club Brugge's Joaquin Seys and Roma's Anass Salah-Eddine are potential targets for on the left. At right-back, Juventus' Nicolo Savona is set to put pen to paper. RB Leipzig's Lutsharel Geertruida and Atletico Madrid's Nahuel Molina had previously been on the Reds' list.
Adding a winger could also be on the agenda. Forest have brought in Hutchinson and Dan Ndoye, but with Jota Silva likely to depart another wide recruit could be forthcoming.
The Reds have been pushing for 22-year-old Dilane Bakwa. They are said to have had three bids rejected by Strasbourg and are facing competition for the France Under-21 international.

Whatever happens, steering clear of any last-minute panic buying should be the order of the day Trentside. This summer has generally continued the recent theme of sensible and considered business by the club, and there is no need to deter from that path come deadline day.
Aside from losing Anthony Elanga, this window has also seen Forest retain their prized assets. They will be keen to ensure that remains the case before the curtain comes down.
A few fringe players are still in line for moving on, however. Nuno does not want players to be left kicking their heels with little chance of game time.
Jota, Omar Richards and Eric da Silva Moreira are likely to head elsewhere. If moves can also be found for out-of-favour duo Josh Bowler and Emmanuel Dennis it would complete a very good window for the Reds.
Forest have until 7pm on Monday to get their remaining business done. They have strengthened well so far and have given themselves a great base to build on for an exciting campaign ahead. Tick off their remaining deals and it could be an excellent window all round for the club.
