Wetherspoons confirms opening date for new Northumberland pub with huge beer garden | Chronicle Live

A new Wetherspoon pub is coming to a village in Northumberland - and it has a huge beer garden. The latest venue of the popular chain, which opens its doors on November 5, will create 60 new jobs.

The pub, which will be named The New Moor Farm, will open on the site of the former Moor Farm Beefeater restaurant, following a development project costing more than £1 million. The name refers to the land where it stands, which once formed the fields of Moor Farm, just off from the busy A19 Moor Farm Roundabout.

It was first recorded in 1769 on a map as 'New Moor', and on later maps as 'Moor House', 'Cramlington Moor Farm', and then just 'Moor Farm', but it had been abandoned by the late 1980s. In the early 2000s, the farmhouse and its outbuildings were redeveloped.

The New Moor Farm will be open from 8am until 11.30pm from Sunday to Thursday, and 8am until midnight on Friday and Saturday, and it will have a ground floor bar, with food being served throughout the day, from opening until 11pm all week long.

The new pub will specialise in real ales and traditional ciders, as well as craft and world beers, serving a wide range of different draught ales, and bottled beers, including those from local and regional brewers.

It will be open for family dining, with children, accompanied by an adult, welcome in the pub until 11pm throughout the week. The pub will also be wheelchair accessible and have a specially adapted toilet for people with disabilities, and it also has a large beer garden to the front of the property.

Historical photos and details showing this local history, as well as artwork and images of local scenes and characters from the surrounding area, will also be displayed in the pub, as it celebrates its Northumberland routes.

Sarah Perfect, the new manager of the pub, said: "Myself and my team are looking forward to welcoming customers into The New Moor Farm and we are confident that the pub will be a great addition to the local social scene."
