The team started off its season against Nanaimo on Sept. 6.

After a scoreless first period, Nanaimo took the lead at 3-1 after two. While the Glacier Kings had another goal in the third, it wasn't enough to beat the Nanaimo team, who won 4-2 in front of 355 local fans.

Madden Cruikshank, Dreyton Hayward, Lukas Needham and second star Nolan Gantner scored for Nanaimo, with first star Ethan Nordli adding two assists. Following a scoreless first period, Nanaimo led 3-1 after two and received 21 stops from netminder Aaron Pichette.

Third Star Cohen Kallin and Zaya Morro had the goals for the Glacier Kings, as goalie Timothee Fengos had a busy night with 30 saves.

The Glacier Kings have their home opener in Comox on Sept. 13 against the Campbell River Storm.
