A dominant performance from Teddy Vigna powered Dos Pueblos boys golf to a non-league win over Nordhoff on Thursday on the front nine of Olivas Links Golf Course, a par 36.

Vigna shot a seven-under-par 29 to earn medalist honors and lead the Chargers, who shot a 173 as a team. Nordhoff ended with a team score of 240.

"The conditions today at Olivas Links were very windy and the boys did a great job navigating the wind," Dos Pueblos head coach Kevin Ahlers said.

Laith Reynolds also had a strong day, shooting a three-under-par 33 to finish second on the Chargers. Orlando Ramirez-Gijon shot a 36 to finish even-par.

The Royals dropped a non-league matchup with Oaks Christian on Thursday at Sandpiper's par 72 course.

"It was a very cold and windy day out at Sandpiper today," San Marcos head coach Jeff Ashton said. "All the players sucked it up and had good attitudes, but the scoring conditions weren't ideal."

Austin Downing was at the front of the Royals' effort with a four-over-par 76, finishing just behind Oaks Christian's Max Emberson at 73.

Downing was followed by teammates Andy Keenan (81), Himmat Singh (86), Adam Kabaretti (86) and Ethan Klawuhn (92).

San Marcos (4-2) will also head down to Calabasas for the Coyote Invitational on Monday.

The Dons dropped a Channel League matchup with the Bulldogs on Thursday at Olivas Links Golf Course's par 72 course.

Alex Ortega was the lone Santa Barbara High golfer to finish in the 70s with his six-over-par 78.

The other Don golfers were Jeremy Wesmacott (81), Peyton Webley (81), Tyler Satterberg (82), Noah Arndt (84) and Elliott Blinderman (87).

"The golfers braved the cold, windy conditions today," Santa Barbara High head coach Ryan Throop said. "The Dons will get back out there and strive to get better each day at practice."

The Dons (2-1) will be in the Coyote Invitational at Calabasas Country Club on Monday.

The Pirates earned a victory over the Conquistadores on Thursday in an 18-hole match at Alisal River Course.

Santa Ynez senior Brayden Mlodzik led all golfers with a score of 79 to pick up medalist honors.
