Superintendent Austin Alexander told Itawamba County school board members at their December meeting that he'd finished the first round of advisory meetings with student groups throughout the district.

The district has established Superintendent Advisory Teams at every school in the county. The teams include members of student councils from each school. For schools that do not have student councils, like lower grade schools, the team is selected by teachers and administrators.
