Musk's announcement follows Alef Aeronautics' flying car test flights
Elon Musk, Tesla's CEO, stated that a flying car could be unveiled within the year.
According to IT media outlets Engadget and Gizmodo on the 1st (local time), Musk appeared on a podcast hosted by Joe Rogan. When asked if he was developing a flying car, he responded, "We will unveil a prototype soon" and added, "It will be an unforgettable demonstration." In a 2014 interview with the British daily *The Independent*, Musk had mentioned that creating a flying car was possible.
However, he did not answer questions such as "Are you really making a flying electric vehicle?" or "Has it been equipped with foldable wings?" Despite this, he emphasized, "This product launch will be the most unforgettable event yet" and said, "This car has truly insane technology. Even combining all James Bond cars, none would be crazier than this one."
Regarding the unveiling timeline, he said, "Hopefully before this year ends, hopefully within two months."
Recently, companies developing flying cars have been emerging one after another. In September, U.S. automotive and aerospace company Alef Aeronautics (Alef) announced the start of test flights for its flying car "Model A." The Model A is an electric vehicle capable of road driving, vertical takeoff and landing, and omnidirectional flight.
