A temporary gallery constructed for a college event in honor of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's birth anniversary collapsed on Friday, resulting in injuries to 16 students. Among them were those from the NCC and NSS units, according to college sources.

The unfortunate incident took place at approximately 8:45 am when students were instructed to stand on the gallery for a headcount. This decision led to the gallery giving way under the collective weight, causing injuries as students' legs were caught between the wreckage.

Victims were promptly transported to the Pala General Hospital and other nearby private hospitals for medical attention. Thankfully, no severe injuries have been reported, authorities confirmed.
