'Taters Caters' luncheon serves up support for child abuse victims

FARGO -- A Fargo-based charity event known for its baked potatoes helped raise money for victims of child abuse Tuesday, Oct. 21.

The 26th annual "RDO Taters Caters" luncheon offered $10 baked potato meals with all the fixings, drinks and dessert, with the option to dine in or take out.

Each year, RDO selects a different nonprofit to receive 100% of the event's proceeds. In 2025, the company chose the Red River Children's Advocacy Center, which provides free forensic interviews, trauma therapy and advocacy for children and families who have experienced abuse.

The center serves more than 60 counties across North Dakota, South Dakota and Minnesota. This year's fundraiser will help the organization hire two new in-house mental health clinicians.

"Our mission is to facilitate hope and healing for victims of sexual abuse, physical abuse, neglect and exploitation, and to engage the community in prevention, to help protect our kids," said Raelyn Soltis, director of operations for the Red River Children's Advocacy Center.

RDO will announce the total amount raised from the event by the end of the week.
