A final decision has been made on plans for a roadside services next to a roundabout in Lochwinnoch.
The proposal for a pit stop on Beith Road - consisting of a petrol station, electric vehicle charging points and a coffee shop - on land adjacent to the A737 and Roadhead Roundabout was rejected in March.
Elected members agreed with a recommendation from the chief planning officer to turn down an application for planning permission at a meeting of the planning and climate change policy board.
But Ferguson Planning, working on behalf of EG on the Move, challenged the ruling to the Scottish Government in June, arguing the project would comply with the relevant policies of the development plan.

However, a government planning reporter has now sided with Renfrewshire Council and decided to refuse planning permission by rejecting the appeal.
Design and transport effects were among the reasons cited for the appeal being rejected on September 18.
It was previously argued that the location and scale of the development would increase dependency on car travel, which was deemed contrary to policy seeking to address the climate emergency through a spatial strategy that helps cut emissions.
The reporter agreed with this point of view.
Lochwinnoch councillors Andy Doig, Chris Gilmour, Gillian Graham and Emma Rodden to the Scottish Government, setting out their opposition to the appeal at the time and Doig has now expressed his delight at the final decision.
He said: "I was very proud to have led a united front of local ward councillors in opposing the ill-judged plans by EG on the Move for a filling station and associated services.
"I very much welcome the Reporter's rejection of the EG on the Move appeal to Holyrood, and am glad she listened to the collective voice of Lochwinnoch in saying no thanks."
