McDonald's is set to release a special new sauce this fall, adding to its lineup of seasonal offerings.

The fast-food chain is introducing the Special Edition Gold Sauce in September, describing it as a "blend of vinegary North Carolina BBQ sauce, infused with notes of honey, smoke and mustard." The company says the golden sauce pairs perfectly with its chicken menu items.

The new sauce launch comes alongside McDonald's Pumpkin Spice Latte and Pumpkin & Creme Pie on Aug. 29.

The Special Edition Gold Sauce will be available on Sept. 3, at participating restaurants nationwide while supplies last, according to a press release.
