Mother Nature heard our call for some beneficial rainfall... And delivered! PDX recorded 1.26 inches of rain Saturday. And since I love numbers, here's some nerdy weather stats for your Sunday...
Today will be drier with light, scattered showers at times. Rain chances are highest mid-day but taper off in the late afternoon/evening. Similar to Saturday, we will likely see some sunbreaks here or there. High temperatures stay in the low to mid 60s, which is below average for this time of the year.
Today also marks the 45th anniversary of the Mt. Saint Helens Eruption in 1980.
Another front arrives to start the workweek. Steady showers will impact morning commuters, but we're expecting a mainly dry afternoon and evening. Most of us will pick up a couple tenths of an inch maximum, where the Cascades and Coast Range could have closer to 0.50''. Highs are forecast to be in the mid-60s.
There is a small chance for a few light showers on Tuesday, but any moisture would be short-lived. Highs will be in the mid to upper 60s under mostly cloudy skies.
A gradual warming trend is expected for the second half of next week with highs returning to the 70s. Wednesday will likely be dry with partially sunny skies. A low-end shower chance is possible Thursday and Friday, but it's soon to tell how significant the rain may be.
Early data is hinting that next weekend will be warmer and drier... Hopefully the forecast holds for any holiday weekend plans!
