The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan will host the 8th Session of the Islamic Conference of Health Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Amman from October 7 to 9.
According to a statement released by the OIC in Jeddah, the conference will bring together delegations led by Health Ministers from OIC member states, as well as representatives of regional and international health organizations.
Discussions will focus on strengthening health systems and advancing the objectives of the OIC Strategic Health Action Plan.
The previous, 7th OIC Health Ministers Conference was held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, in December 2019 under the theme "Quality of Life." Organized by the OIC General Secretariat and hosted by the UAE, that session addressed issues such as combating communicable and non-communicable diseases, improving immunization services, promoting women's and children's health, and ensuring self-reliance in medicine and vaccine production.
The upcoming 8th session in Amman aims to set new strategic directions for health cooperation among OIC member countries while reinforcing efforts to enhance public health and resilience within the Islamic world.
