FBR to launch online auction system for non-customs paid vehicles - Profit by Pakistan Today

New e-auction module and Customs General Order aim to improve transparency, efficiency, and revenue from confiscated vehicles

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has announced plans to introduce an online/e-auction module for non-customs paid vehicles to enhance transparency and efficiency in their disposal.

As per reports, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar chaired a follow-up meeting of the high-level committee on tampered and confiscated vehicles on Thursday, where the FBR presented details of the proposed system. The module is designed to ensure fairness and optimal revenue generation from the auction of confiscated vehicles.

The FBR has also prepared a new Customs General Order (CGO) for the disposal of tampered and confiscated vehicles. A sub-committee tasked with reviewing existing laws and policies finalized the CGO after detailed deliberations, and it was subsequently approved by the DPM.

Senator Dar emphasized that the decision reflects the government's commitment to technology-driven solutions that improve transparency, conserve public resources, and streamline the auction process for confiscated vehicles.
