To urgently assist Thai Nguyen and Cao Bang provinces in recovering from the devastating aftermath of Typhoon No. 11, Gia Lai's Department of Health has dispatched a special task force to provide both medical expertise and essential supplies.

This morning (October 10), the delegation departed Gia Lai for the two storm-affected northern provinces. The 62-member team includes experienced doctors and health workers from the Provincial Center for Disease Control and various district health centers.

The delegation is divided into two groups of 31 members each, assigned separately to Thai Nguyen and Cao Bang. The Director of Gia Lai's Department of Health is personally accompanying and overseeing the mission, scheduled from October 11 to 13.

The team's key responsibilities include working closely with local health authorities to carry out essential post-disaster interventions. These include environmental sanitation, water disinfection, disease prevention, medicine distribution, and public health education. These actions are aimed at safeguarding community health and stabilizing life for residents in the affected areas.

Gia Lai has also prepared vital medical resources for the mission: 600 kilograms of Cloramin B disinfectant powder (300 kg for each province) for large-scale environmental sanitation and disinfection, along with 4,000 household medicine kits (2,000 kits per province) to help families manage basic healthcare needs.

According to the plan, the team will remain on the ground for seven days (October 11-17) to conduct their support activities. They are expected to return to Gia Lai on October 18.
