According to council's agenda package, $35,699 can be drawn from the town's street improvement program reserve for the project.

Under the Intermunicipal Collaboration Framework (ICF), it's anticipated Woodlands County will contribute $142,796, for a total project cost of $796,526, according to council's agenda package.

ICFs are agreements between bordering Alberta municipalities to guide shared services and infrastructure.

Council approved a public input session for Monday, Sept. 22 to craft the 2026 municipal budget, according to town communications.

"The public input session encourages public participation and provides council with the public perspective when determining budget priorities," council's agenda package reads.

According to council's agenda package, the session will be held during a town council meeting on that day at 4 p.m. and written suggestions can be submitted until Sept. 17.

Council meetings are held at the Forest Interpretive Centre.

Meanwhile, town staff will look over their projects to determine which will be continued in 2026, according to council's agenda package.

Council scheduled a special meeting on the budget for Oct. 1, and it's expected that the interim operating and capital budgets will be presented to councillors on Dec. 15.
