BENTONVILLE -- Motorists can expect more street and lane closures over the next week.

The city announced in a news release Wednesday that Southeast B Street between Southeast Fourth and Southeast Sixth streets will be closed from 7 a.m.-6 p.m. Thursday through May 21 for construction work related to private development. Pedestrian and bicycle traffic will also be detoured during the work.

Next week, the northbound curbside lane of North Walton Boulevard between Northwest 11th Street and the Interstate 49 southbound on ramp will be closed from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, the release states. The closure is related to fiber-optic cable installation work.

Meanwhile, two street projects have had their end dates extended, meaning associated closures will continue for a while longer.

Southeast Benton Street between Southeast 10th and Southeast 11th streets will now be closed from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily through Monday, according to the release. The closure is related to the Thaden Elementary School Project.

In addition, work along Northeast A Street will continue through at least May 26, the release states. A city road closure map shows the road closed from Northeast Third Street to West Central Avenue. The closures are related to the city's Quilt of Parks project.
