Gearbox Software has announced new content for Borderlands 4, including its first paid Bounty Pack DLC titled How Rush Saved Mercenary Day, a free seasonal mini-event, and a new endgame boss arriving later this year.
The Bounty Pack DLC adds a series of new missions where players team up with Rush. It also introduces a new Vault Card packed with earnable rewards through gameplay. Players can expect four Vault Hunter heads and skins usable by Vex, Rafa, Amon, and Harlowe, along with five weapon and vehicle skins, four Echo-4 drone skins, two drone attachments, and four pieces of rerollable gear.
The DLC also features a new Digirunner vehicle, a new Vault Hunting style for all four main characters, and an additional Echo-4 drone skin. Players can access the DLC through the Deluxe or Super Deluxe editions, the Bounty Pack bundle, or by purchasing it separately.
Alongside the DLC, Gearbox announced Horrors of Kairos, a free limited-time mini-event running from October 23 to November 6. During the event, a blood rain weather effect will trigger during boss fights, and defeating these bosses gives players a shot at new Legendary loot.
Gearbox also revealed Bloomreaper the Invincible, the first of the game's endgame "Invincible Bosses." This boss fight will arrive as part of a free December 2025 update, which will also introduce the Ultimate Vault Hunter mode, featuring increased difficulty.
The series looks to cross 100 million copies sold with the launch of Borderlands 4.
In IGN's review, Borderlands 4 scored a 7/10 and was described as "a vault full of fun guns and chaos... buried under frame drops and sticker-shock pricing."
