Obituary: Linda J. Rogers

MADISON - Linda J. Rogers, 76, of Madison, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at her home after a battle with cancer. Linda was born on Jan. 10, 1949, in Kingfield, the daughter of Melvin and Marion Hutchins.

Linda graduated from Kingfield High School in 1967. She met the love of her life in 1970 and married on May 29,1971 to Everett Rogers Jr. They moved to Madison and raised their family. Linda was a devoted wife, daughter, mother, Mimi, and friend. Linda worked seasonal jobs making lifelong friends along the way. Linda enjoyed dining at the Heritage House and trips to the casinos with her H&R Block ladies. She enjoyed the many shopping adventures and days spent playing cards with her L.L. Bean ladies. She also enjoyed afternoons with the ladies from the VFW playing pull tabs and going out to eat. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. Going for car rides with her husband, supporting her grandson's playing sports, spending time up to camp, and teaching her grandsons to play cards, which she was very proud to pass down the tradition. She will be sadly missed by many.

She was predeceased by her parents Melvin and Marion Hutchins, brother Bill Hutchins.

Linda is survived by her husband Everett Rogers, Jr. of Madison, her daughter Penny Hay and husband Dave of Madison, and her son Chad Rogers of Pittsfield. She also leaves behind a brother Joe Hutchins and wife Sharon of North New Portland, four grandsons Gavin, Austin, Brady and Miles, and many nieces and nephews.

Linda's family would like to thank the staff at Beacon Hospice, especially Tammy and Pam, for the wonderful care they provided.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m., on Saturday June 7, 2025, at the VFW located at 58 Preble Ave Madison Maine.
